Last day, new life

Well today I celebrated my last day at a job that I was not meant for. I am moving on to another position that I feel will offer a challenge and a pat on the back once in a while. It is a shame that more managers don't know the importance of their direct reports. If only all managers and those that aspire to be managers are required to take training from someone like James Hunter, the author of The Servant. What a difference it would make if being kind and making a difference in someone's life was like a virus. The world today is tough enough but to add a miserable work existence to the mix makes it even worse.

My personal belief is that as a manager I never want my reports to wake up and not want to go to work because they hate me, and I never want to be the topic of dinner conversation when one goes home because that means they have taken it with them and it probably ain't good.

Times have changed and it is not acceptable to treat employees like anything else but what they are; the back-bone of every company.

Thank you for your time if you happened to stumble upon this blog. I'll keep everyone posted.
